Today, at the 4th Founder’s Day Celebration of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori called for a redesign of academic curriculum to equip graduates with the technical skills necessary to become job and wealth creators. Governor Oborevwori who was represented by Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta State highlighted the need to shift from an education system that primarily prepares students for salaried employment to one that fosters entrepreneurship and technical proficiency from the primary school level.
Governor Oborevwori further commended Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Former Governor of Delta State for establishing UNIDEL, noting its positive impact on access to higher education. He also celebrated the university’s recent milestone of admitting 4,500 new students and securing accreditation for 71 out of 74 academic programmes.
