Today, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori officially unveiled the Delta State Commercial Oil Palm Plantation Development Land Bank and Agric Data (DELCOM COOP) at the Government House Press Centre in Asaba. During the event, he also announced his membership in DELCOM.

 

Governor Oborevwori in his address reiterated that the theme of the programme, “Transforming Delta State Oil Palm Industry in Furtherance of the MORE Agenda,” reflects the government’s commitment to unlocking the immense potential of agriculture. He stressed the need for economic diversification in the state.

 

Highlighting the significance of the oil palm sector, Governor Oborevwori described it as a catalyst for sustainable development, wealth creation, and improved livelihoods. He further revealed that 68 host communities have released 130,000 hectares of arable land across the three senatorial districts to support the initiative.
