Maria Farmer, one of the first women to publicly accuse Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, has now called out former U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him of lying about his ties to the disgraced financier.

In an emotional interview on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront aired Monday, July 21, Farmer alleged that Trump was present during a disturbing encounter at Epstein’s Manhattan office in 1995 — a claim the former president has repeatedly denied.

Maria Farmer Recalls Chilling Moment with Trump at Epstein’s Office

Farmer, who was 25 at the time, said she was recruited for art-related work by Epstein and summoned to his office one evening. Wearing workout clothes after a run, she arrived and was left waiting — until she noticed what she described as a “tall, imposing” figure: Donald Trump.

“He walked up a few feet from me and just stood over me… smirking like he was in on some secret,” Farmer said. “I felt threatened.”

She added that after she made a disapproving facial expression, Trump stepped back as Epstein came out and told him:

“Oh no, she’s not here for you. Follow me.”

Farmer then claimed she overheard Trump mutter, “Oh, I thought she was 16.”

“Rude is an understatement,” she said. “It doesn’t matter what age I was — it was inappropriate, demeaning, and threatening.”

Trump Denies Any Wrongdoing

Trump, who has long tried to distance himself from Epstein’s crimes, recently told NBC News:

“That’s old news. Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it.”

The White House Communications Director, Steven Cheung, doubled down:

“The President was never in Epstein’s office. In fact, the President kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”

But Farmer is not buying it.

“He’s lying,” she told CNN. “They’re being disrespectful to the fact that I’ve given up my entire life for this case, just to have it investigated.”

Farmer also claims that Epstein and Trump were close in the 1990s:

“Epstein joked to me that after his divorce, he ‘inherited Trump’ and Ghislaine [Maxwell] inherited Ivana. It was known they were best friends at the time.”

Farmer Sues the U.S. Government Over Inaction

On May 29, 2025, Maria Farmer filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government, alleging that federal agencies like the FBI failed to protect her and other victims. She said she had reported both Epstein’s abuse and Trump’s possible connections in 1996 and again in 2006, but no action was taken.

Farmer and her sister Annie Farmer were among the earliest victims to report Epstein’s abuse. In 1996, she told both the NYPD and the FBI that she had been s3xually assaulted by Epstein and Maxwell, and that her then-15-year-old sister Annie was also abused.

“The government has not held any of the people I’ve reported accountable,” Farmer said.
