The Senate says the suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, remains suspended until it resumes from recess in two months’ time.
Spokesman for the red chamber of the National Assembly, Yemi
Adaramodu, stated this on Tuesday when he featured on Politics Today, a
programme on Channels Television.
This was a few hours after the Senate barred the suspended
lawmaker from resuming legislative duties at the National Assembly in Abuja.
“The Senate and National Assembly as a whole has a role to
play. We are legislators; we are not spectators, watching skit making and
content creation. Initially, the content had been created and it’s degenerating
into seasoned films.
“The Senator is still suspended, and it will remain so till
the Senate resumes back from recess in two months,” he said.
Recall that Senator Natasha was suspended in March 2025 over
what is termed a violation of Senate rules after a seat arrangement argument
with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual
misconduct—an allegation Akpabio denied.
The lawmaker made an attempt to resume Senate proceedings on
Tuesday, July 22, 2025, but was barred.
