Popular media personality Noble Igwe has shared his thoughts on the decision to rename the well-known Charly Boy Bus Stop after Indigenous rapper and music executive Olamide.
It is worth noting that the Bariga Local Council Development Area made the announcement during the inauguration of several infrastructural projects on Friday, July 25th, 2025.
The Chairman, Kolade Alabi David, said that following the renaming of Ajidagan Street to Olamide Adedeji Baddo Street, the Charly Boy Bus Stop would now be called Baddo Bus Stop.

In response to the news on Saturday, Noble Igwe highlighted that Charly Boy is a significant figure in Nigerian music and culture, someone who has firmly secured his place in history.
He explained that even though not everyone may like Charly Boy, changing the name of a bus stop does not diminish his impact or legacy.
“Charley Boy isn’t just an ordinary figure; he’s earned his place in the history books.
You don’t have to like him, but renaming a bus stop won’t erase his legacy.”
