Kwara United have fulfilled their financial obligations to the club’s former players in accordance with the ruling of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
Kwara State governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazak made the payment of N201 million in settlement of outstanding sign-on fees spanning the 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17 NPFL seasons.
The ex-players expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts in ensuring proper documentation, which paved the way for the final settlement of the long-standing debt.
It would be recalled that Kwara United were listed among the clubs facing complaints over overdue payables and contract breach.
The NPFL had warned that in the event of failure to fulfill the indebtedness, affected clubs will have the licences of their new players withdrawn indefinitely.
Kwara United and Shooting Stars are the most recent clubs who have complied with the directive from the league body.
