Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has awarded ₦70 million to seven Imo-born Super Falcons players and their assistant coach for their stellar performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The announcement was made during a grand reception hosted at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Owerri on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, following Nigeria’s 3-2 victory over Morocco in the tournament final, securing the country’s 10th WAFCON title.
The honored players—Chiamaka Nnadozie, Jennifer Echegini, Osinachi Ohale, Tochukwu Oluehi, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Anam Imo, and Esther Okoronkwo—each received ₦10 million, while assistant coach Ann Chiejine was also awarded ₦10 million.
Notably, Michelle Alozie, another Imo-born player, was absent, having returned to her base in the United States.
