The home-based Super Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw by Zanzibar in a pre-African Nations Championship, friendly on Thursday.

Nigeria led 2-0 at half-time through goals from Nasarawa United striker, Anas Yusuf.

Remo Star, Adedayo Olamilekan also netted the second goal for Eric Chelle’s side.

Defiant Zanzibar, fought back after the break to earn a share of the spoils.

The Home Eagles will now shift attention to their first game at the CHAN 2024 finals against defending champions Senegal.

The Group D encounter will hold at the Amman Stadium, Zanzibar next week Tuesday.

The Home Eagles will then confront Sudan in their second match of the group phase (also at the Amaan Stadium) on the 12th August, 2025 before concluding their group D campaign against Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, 19th August.
