Elvis Nosakhare

A Nigerian based in the United Kingdom, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting the underage daughter of his girlfriend.

Akelicious learnt from a statement obtained from the Thames Valley Police website on Thursday that Nosakhare would also be registered as a sex offender.

According to the statement, the 41-year-old met the victim’s mother via an online dating site, after which he assaulted the victim.

The statement read in part, “Nosakhare met the mother of the victim via an online dating site and then abused her daughter in a disgusting betrayal of trust. The offences happened in the Thames Valley.

“Nosakhare will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life, and the court also issued a restraining order against him.”

The statement noted that Nosakhare was subsequently arraigned before Aylesbury Crown Court on five counts bordering on penetrative sexual activity with a girl and engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity.

“Following his guilty plea, the statement noted that Nosakhare was sentenced by the court on Tuesday to six years’ imprisonment.

“Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man was jailed for six years for sexual activity with a girl.

It continued, “Elvis Nosakhare, aged 41, of Sheelin Grove, Bletchley, was sentenced to six years in jail at Aylesbury Crown Court on July 29.

“After a trial earlier this year, Nosakhare was found guilty of two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl and three counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl.”

Reacting to the sentencing, the investigating officer, Detective Constable Bryn Smith, of the UK Police Child Abuse Unit, commended the bravery of the victim during the trial process.

He urged any other victim of abuse not to hesitate to report such to the police.

“I want to commend the victim for her bravery throughout both the investigation and court proceedings. I hope that Elvis Nosakhare’s conviction and sentence give her some sense of justice.

“Thames Valley Police has dedicated teams who investigate sexual offences, support victims, and bring offenders to justice.

“I would encourage anyone with information about sexual offences, and victims of sexual offences, to contact the police,” the statement read.

PUNCH Metro reported a similar incident on June 15, when a Nigerian healthcare worker, Adewale Kudabo, accused of sexually assaulting a female patient, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment.

A UK media outlet, The Press, reported that Kudabo was working as a healthcare worker at York Hospital when the sexual assault offences occurred, as stated by the prosecutor, Henry Fernandez.

The presiding judge, Alex Menary, said that Kudabo “abused the trust” placed in him as a medical professional.
