Na so we don enter di new season of Leagues Cup 2025, and all eyes dey on di field as Liga MX teams dey ready to show dem skills against MLS teams again. Dis season go run from July 29 to August 31, 2025, and we sabi say plenty teams dey ginger for di competition!
Dis time, dem split di teams into two conferences: one for di Liga MX and one for di MLS. E mean say Nigeria vs. Ghana no fit happen. Each team go play three matches in di first round, and na di best four from each conference go qualify for di knockout stage. Na wah!
So far, we don see some impressive performances from teams like Tigres, Humble Juárez and di surprise package, Puebla. Dem don enter di field with serious fire, confusing so many players wey dey expect easy matches. Meanwhile, Cruz Azul don dey swim for hot water after dem suffer terrible 0-7 loss to Seattle Sounders – e be like say dem no even fit swim well again! (I no go lie: dem dey face their worst nightmare).
For di first round, each match go no fit end in draw. If matches tie after 90 minutes, dem go dey head for penalty shootouts to give di winner one extra point. So, let’s see who go shine and who go gather fire!
As we dey follow di action, teams dey consider dis format well because e go increase di pressure to perform. And na only di top four from each side fit enter di quarter-finals. So, no be here we go dey manage style; everybody dey hustle! (My padi dey laugh say e go need extra beer by weekend after dis).
