Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has admitted that he feels for teammate Alexander Isak amid the Swede’s current situation.

Isak is pushing for a transfer move away from Newcastle United to Liverpool this summer.

The 25‑year‑old has already agreed to a personal deal with the Reds until 2031, but Newcastle are desperate to hold on to the attacker beyond this summer and value him at £150m.

The striker has been left out of Newcastle’s pre‑season squad and is currently training alone at the facilities of his former club Real Sociedad in Spain.

Speaking on Isak’s situation, Gordon expressed hope that both Newcastle and the player would get what they want as soon as possible.

“It’s really difficult. That is why I understand what Alex is going through. I feel for him,” Gordon told The Daily Mail.

“He will be going through a lot. The club is going through a lot.

“I hope everyone gets what they want in the end.”
