Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of misleading Nigerians with outdated tactics.
According to him, the party’s recent criticisms are a failed attempt to gain relevance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Keyamo made the remarks on Sunday, while speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s political programme, Sunday Politics.
He described the tactics of the opposition coalition as nothing new, likening them to fraudulent schemes he once prosecuted during his tenure as a lawyer with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“They know us very well and we also know them very well. They are not strangers to us,” Keyamo said on the programme.

“And some of these tactics they are using are what is called 419. It was what I used to prosecute people as EFCC prosecutor. The format they are using is expired.
“Nigerians know that format already. So you cannot use it to deceive them.”
The minister specifically criticised the ADC’s approach of citing isolated incidents and inflating statistics to paint a negative image of the current government.
“Reeling out figures, picking out isolated incidents and using them for generalisation,” he added, was a manipulative tactic meant to mislead voters.
