Edo 2024: Ighodalo, PDP File Petition At Tribunal, Vow To Reclaim 'Stolen' Mandate

The Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO) has dismissed reports claiming that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, has dumped the party.

In a statement issued on Monday by its spokesperson, Erhabor Emokpae, TAMO urged Nigerians to disregard what it described as a “baseless fabrication” aimed at misleading the public ahead of the upcoming National Assembly by-elections.

The statement reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a video circulating online alleging that Dr. Asue Ighodalo has left the Peoples Democratic Party.

“This claim is false. Dr. Ighodalo remains a member of the PDP. We urge the public to disregard this baseless fabrication and the mischief behind it, which is aimed at misleading our supporters ahead of the National Assembly by-elections scheduled for later this month.”

TAMO further reassured party supporters that Ighodalo remains committed to his political vision and the development of Edo State.

“Dr. Ighodalo remains focused on his vision for a prosperous and safe Edo, and on strengthening the PDP as a platform that truly protects the interests of the people,” it added.

Naija News understands that Ighodalo contested in the September 2024 governorship in Edo State, but was defeated by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo.
