Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman was absent from Atalanta’s training on Monday as tensions surrounding his potential transfer continue to mount.
Lookman has formally submitted a transfer request to the Serie A club and is pushing for a move this summer, following Atalanta’s decision to reject a €42 million plus €3 million offer from Inter Milan.
The club’s refusal to sell to another Italian team has reportedly left him frustrated, with his future now hanging in the balance.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development via X, writing:
“Ademola Lookman didn’t show up for training today as he keeps insisting on plan to leave Atalanta.
Atalanta maintain their position, no way to let him go for €42m plus €3m proposal rejected last week.
No fresh bid from Inter so far.”
He was instrumental in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League triumph last season, but his recent absence and transfer request signal a major breakdown in relations with the club.
