The National Union of Teachers has condemned the kidnap of the vice principal of the Junior Secondary School, Yebu, in the Kwali Area Council of Abuja.

In an interview with our correspondent, the National Secretary General of the National Union of Teachers, Dr Mike Ene, condemned the attack and called on the government to facilitate the release of Nuhu.

Ene said, “We condemn this attack and it is so sad to hear that our teachers are no longer safe. We call on the government to please rescue Mr Muhammed Nuhu.”

Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen had on Saturday raided the staff quarters of the school and kidnapped the vice principal, Muhammed Nuhu.

Sources familiar with the matter told our correspondent that the kidnappers who came in their large numbers shot had indiscriminately before making away with the vice principal.

It was also mentioned that the security personnel at the gate was tied to facilitate easy operations.

“The assailants have not reached out for any ransom,” the source added.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh proved abortive as she has not responded to our inquiries as of the time of filing this report.
