Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has officially become the Nigerian artist with the most albums to chart on the US Billboard 200.
Previously tied with Wizkid at four entries each, Burna Boy broke the tie after his latest project, No Sign Of Weakness, debuted at No. 200 on the chart this week — albeit with modest numbers.
The album moved just 8,800 units in the US, making it the lowest-charting Nigerian album in Billboard 200 history. Still, the entry pushes Burna Boy’s total to five charting albums, a new national record.
The low debut is attributed to Billboard’s revised chart rules, which now count only US-based sales and streams. Previously, international plays — particularly from Nigeria, Ghana, and the UK — contributed significantly to Afrobeats artists’ Billboard performance.
Despite the underwhelming start for No Sign Of Weakness, his record-setting feat reaffirms his strong presence in the global music scene.
