Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk is looking forward to the return of Victor Osimhen to the club, as the Nigerian is on the brink of completing a high-profile permanent move to the club, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Turkish champions are in the final stages of negotiations with Napoli after a protracted negotiation.
Buruk confirmed that talks between both clubs are progressing positively and that only minor details remain outstanding.
According to multiple reports, Galatasaray are prepared to pay a total of €75m, with €40m paid upfront and a further €35m due by 2026.
The deal includes a clause barring Osimhen from returning to Serie A within two years, while Napoli will retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause.
Osimhen has already expressed his approval, having impressed on loan last season with 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, a contribution that was instrumental to Galatasaray’s domestic double success.
“Everything regarding Osimhen is going positively. We’re nearing completion. We want it finalised as soon as possible,” Buruk said while speaking on the matter.
“The player’s side was already positive, and the talks with Napoli are also very positive. We hope it will be concluded soon. Our entire transfer strategy has revolved around Osimhen.
“We have a significant budget, and how we allocate that budget is crucial. Once this deal is done, we’ll consider our next moves.”
Osimhen is expected to arrive in Istanbul shortly for his medical and official unveiling, with a four-year contract awaiting his signature.
Once completed, Galatasaray will reportedly shift focus to finalising their goalkeeper acquisition, while player departures may follow to ensure compliance with league regulations.
The Turkish side begin their domestic campaign on August 8, with UEFA Champions League qualifiers also on the horizon, a stage where the club hopes Osimhen’s presence will prove decisive.
