Former Big Brother Naija stars Bisola Aiyeola and Mercy Eke have opened up about how the hit reality TV show drastically changed the trajectory of their careers and personal growth.

Alongside the show’s iconic host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the duo shared heartfelt reflections in a recent Instagram video captured during Ebuka’s birthday celebration in Lagos.

Bisola, who emerged as the first runner-up of the BBNaija 2017 “See Gobe” edition, credited the show with fast-tracking her journey to success.

“Big Brother Naija escalated the success that I knew I was going to have either way, but the reality show took it like zillion steps faster to the top,” she said.

Mercy Eke, who made history in 2019 as the first female winner of BBNaija, echoed similar sentiments about the life-changing impact of the platform.

“Big Brother Naija changed me, changed my brand, changed my whole existence. I think you can see it right here,” she said with pride.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who first gained fame as a housemate in BBNaija 2006 before returning as the show’s host in 2017, also gave credit to the franchise for shaping his career path.

“It [BBNaija] definitely made me a TV presenter. I was never going to be doing this… Without BBNaija, I wouldn’t have a career in television today,” he stated.

Since their time on the show, each of them has gone on to build powerful brands and careers:

  • Bisola Aiyeola is now an award-winning actress, producer, and entrepreneur. She won the AMVCA Trailblazer Award in 2018, and later launched her own skincare line, Brown Girls Magic.

  • Mercy Eke has become a force in the entertainment and business industries. She is the founder of MNM Luxury and Lambo Homes, and was a top contender in the BBNaija 2023 All-Stars edition.

  • Ebuka has become a staple in Nigerian television, not just as the face of BBNaija since 2017, but also as the host of several other shows, cementing his place as one of the most respected media personalities in the country.

Their stories continue to serve as proof of how Big Brother Naija remains a powerful launchpad for young Nigerians striving for fame, influence, and success.
