The triumphant Super Falcons of Nigeria, and 10-time African champions have returned to Abuja following their exceptional performance at the recently concluded 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The Falcons clinched their 10th continental title after a thrilling 3-2 victory against the hosts, Morocco, in the final match at Rabat on Saturday.
The players, officials, and members of the contingent landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday at approximately 2:25 pm.
Following their arrival, the team is now preparing for a celebratory trophy parade along Airport Road, which will proceed to the Presidential Villa, where they are set to be received and hosted by President Bola Tinubu.
The Super Falcons achieved a record-extending 10th WAFCON title on Saturday night, overcoming the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in a dramatic comeback that illuminated their remarkable resilience and skill on the pitch.
