Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has offered a rare glimpse into the emotional toll of his global stardom, describing fame as “boring” and confining.

In an interview with Instablog TV, Osimhen spoke about the downside of fame and how it often robs him of simple joys.

“I like to stay around these people [Olusosun residents]. I like to stay close to them. Because I feel like fame is boring. Sometimes, you want to go outside, you cannot do a lot of things,” Osimhen said, referring to the Olusosun community in Lagos where he grew up.

The 25-year-old, who has become a cult hero both in Italy and back home in Nigeria, revealed how even fatherhood has been affected by his celebrity status.

“I remember when I had my daughter and I wanted to take her somewhere with my family when they came to visit us in Italy, I couldn’t do much with my daughter on our first outing. I had to give her to my sister and then I was just taking pictures and making videos. Just like I said, fame is boring,” he added.

Despite his challenges with the spotlight, Osimhen remains a central figure in Nigerian football and a top target in the European transfer market.

He is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Turkish side, Galatasaray, a club he spent last season in on loan from Napoli.

Inter Milan Pushes for Lookman Signing

Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta has turned up the heat in the club’s pursuit of Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, calling the coming days “crucial” in determining the player’s fate.

“This week will be crucial for the Lookman deal,” Marotta confirmed.

“We are in talks for Ademola Lookman, we want him but we also respect Atalanta. In 2-3 days we hope to proceed and be able to get the deal done otherwise we will move on and focus on other players.”

Lookman, who lit up the 2023-2024 season with a stellar hat-trick in the Europa League final, has become a hot commodity this summer.

Inter Milan see him as a dynamic option to strengthen their attacking depth ahead of a new campaign, but Atalanta is reportedly holding out for a significant fee.
