The National Vice Chairman (Southeast) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has announced that the party expects two opposition governors from the southeast to defect to the ruling party.

Arodiogbu declared that reports available to him indicate that the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, and his counterpart in Abia State, Alex Otti, are set to quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), respectively, and join the APC.

The APC chieftain also declared that there is no truth in the claims by the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC) that the two governors are set to be a part of the coalition.

He added that the ADC is only playing mind games by publicly declaring that the two governors are set to join them.

“The other ones that are in Labour and PDP, Enugu and Abia, we are expecting them to join our ranks, from what I hear, and I don’t think they have any positive discussion with ADC,” he said.

Naija News reports that Arodiogbu made the submission during an interview with TVC on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a former member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Kazaure, has predicted a loss for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

The former lawmaker said as long as the election is free and fair, Tinubu would have lost at the polls by 12 noon on election day.

Naija News reports that Kazaure made the declaration in a viral video released by AIT on Wednesday, through the 𝕏 platform.

He also lamented Nigeria’s growing debt profile and the economic hardship Nigerians are facing.

“With a free and fair election, I can assure you by 12 noon he will have lost the 2027 election,” he said.
