Nicole Chikwe, wife of rapper Naeto C, has opened up about her continued awe for Nollywood legend Genevieve Nnaji, revealing that she still struggles to keep her composure around the actress—even after knowing her for over a decade.
In a video shared by Naija News, Nicole described a recent unexpected encounter with Genevieve Nnaji at a café in Ikoyi, where the actress was seated with a friend.
Despite their familiarity and exchanging pleasantries, Nicole admitted she couldn’t hold back her reaction as a longtime fan. She said the moment she saw Genevieve Nnaji, “the air seemed to leave the room and time felt frozen.”
Without thinking, she bowed before the actress and said, “My queen, I’m not worthy to be in your presence.”
Although Genevieve laughed off the moment, Nicole said she was being completely serious.
She noted that her years of experience meeting celebrities through her marriage and career in media haven’t dulled her admiration for Genevieve.
She said:
“I want to talk about one person in particular because there is one person who whenever i’m in this person’s presence i feel like i am in the presence of a star and i am shook and i am weak every single time and that person is genevieve nnaji and even till now 14 years later whenever i see her i’m still just like like i’m trying not to faint. She’s just a star.”
