Lere Olayinka, an aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has reacted to the claim by a former lawmaker, Dino Melaye who said he regrets supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.
Melaye, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the APC in 2015.
He later returned to the PDP during the buildup of the 2019 elections after a political tussle with Yahaya Bello.
Recently, Melaye dumped the PDP for the newly adopted coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
However, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Melaye said he regrets supporting the ruling APC.
”I regret supporting APC, I was blind then, now I can see,” Melaye told the TV host.
Reacting to the former lawmaker’s claim, Olayinka described him as a former blind man.
Olayinka also called Melaye a “tree climber”.
He wrote on X, “Dino Melaye: “I regret supporting APC, I was blind then, now I can see”
“ME: Good morning this evening FORMER BLIND MAN @_dinomelaye, the TREE CLIMBER.
“But was it the blindness that made you not to vote in your own governorship election?
“Abi how person go dey house dey do Social Media contents and not vote on the day of his own election?” Olayinka inquired.
