Award-winning Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has revealed that her hit movie To Be a Friend (T.B.A.F) has been taken down from YouTube due to copyright issues.
The emotional announcement came via a video posted to her Instagram account on Tuesday, where the 34-year-old actress candidly shared the setback with her fans. The film had garnered nearly six million views on her channel before its removal.
“This is not the kind of message I wanted to share, but life happens,” she said.
“Yes, To Be A Friend is no longer on the YouTube channel. It’s sad but life goes on. We had a bit of a situation with copyright issues related to sound.”
“We Might Have to Start All Over Again”
Despite the disappointment, Bimbo explained that they had followed due process when uploading the movie to her channel BimboAdemoyeTV, but things didn’t go as expected.
“No, we didn’t go through the back door, and yes, we picked the right channel. I wish I could explain more, but sadly, I can’t. I probably eventually will, but not now.”
Bimbo, known for her engaging performances and strong fan base, said there are plans to re-upload the film and is asking fans to support it again when that happens.
“If we re-upload, I would appreciate it if you could watch, like, share, and subscribe. And if we have to start from zero, I would super duper appreciate it if you shared it with your friends, family, posted on your page or story… just to help support this girl, because I can’t do it without you.”
Gratitude and Hope Despite Setback
Although the movie has been removed, Bimbo remains optimistic and deeply grateful for the love and support she has received. She ended the video with faith and resilience:
“Are we going to get six million views again? I don’t know. Are we going to get over six million? I don’t know. But God is God. He sits upon his throne and watches over us.”
She captioned the post: “Not easily broken.”
