Oby Ezekwesili, the former minister of education, and her husband Chinedu Ezekwesili have marked their 37th wedding anniversary.

In an X post on Monday, the 62-year-old showered encomiums on her husband while thanking God for their “enduring love.”

The former minister also reminisced about the day Chinedu proposed, recalling her joyful acceptance, and reaffirmed her lifelong commitment to him.

“#ThirtySeven today, my guy Pastor Chinedu T. Ezekwesili and I am forever blessing our God for that day you asked me and I said a resounding yes,” she wrote.

“And I will always love you until we return to the one who’s shown us the everlasting love upon which we centered ours in good times and tough times through the years. You’re still the one I want for life.”

The couple, who wed in 1988, are blessed with three children: Chinemelum, Childera, and Chinweuba.

Ezekwesili, an accomplished economist and policy expert, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and two master’s degrees from the University of Lagos and Harvard Kennedy School.

She served as a two-time minister in Nigeria and later as the World Bank’s vice-president for Africa.
