Veteran Nigerian music producer, Samklef, has publicly announced his decision to withdraw from the ongoing discourse surrounding the late singer, Mohbad. In a recent statement, Samklef addressed widespread rumours and clarified that social media personality, VeryDarkMan, did not pay N20 million to obtain the controversial group chat related to Mohbad’s case.

According to Samklef, the chat was leaked by someone from within their own group, dispelling the narrative of any financial transaction. “VeryDarkMan did not pay any N20 million to get the group chat. The person that leaked the chat was inside our group,” he stated.

Expressing frustration over the backlash he claims to have received from the entertainment industry, Samklef stressed that he has no personal stake in the matter. “I cannot be crying more than the bereaved — Mohbad’s father and family members. I don’t have any personal interest in this case, but the whole industry is against me,” he lamented.

Concluding his statement, Samklef declared his official disengagement from the case. “From today, I officially wash off my hands off Mohbad’s case,” he said.

The producer’s withdrawal comes amid ongoing public interest in the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s tragic passing.
