Ex-Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido claims President Tinubu will sack Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), after securing his political interests in the South-South.

Lamido made the assertion during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Tuesday .

He claimed that Wike’s appointment was driven by a strategic political motive aimed at securing Tinubu’s foothold in the South-South geopolitical zone.

“Tinubu was looking for someone who will help him in his political interest,” Lamido said.

“The whole appointment of Wike was to make sure Tinubu secures the South-South.”

He further suggested that the former Rivers State governor will be discarded once his usefulness has expired.

According to him, Tinubu has already made significant gains in the region.

“So far, he has been able to get Akwa Ibom and Edo states. Wike already has Rivers State,” Lamido noted.

He added that once Tinubu consolidates control over the region, Wike’s relevance would fade.

“By the time Tinubu is able to secure the South-South in his own basket, Wike will become irrelevant, and he will remove him.

“He appointed Wike for a purpose, gave him an office for a purpose; by the time the purpose is no more, that’s the end of it.”
