Governor Sheriff Oborevwori presented the 2025 Budget Proposal of N936 billion, christened "Budget of Fiscal Consolidation," to the state assembly. The 2025 Budget is N211 billion more than the 2024 approved budget, which represents an increase of 29 percent. As an administration, our priority remains to ensure microeconomic stability through fiscal discipline and judicious allocation of resources, expand economic activities, create opportunities for our teeming youth population, bolster public service efficiency for optimum service delivery, and lend support to the poor and vulnerable.
Interestingly, road infrastructure took the lion's share of the proposed 2025 budget, with the sum of N230 billion. With the presentation of the 2025 Budget Proposal, we reaffirm our commitment to the progress and prosperity of our great state. The budget is a blueprint for a brighter future anchored on transparency, accountability, sustainability, and growth. He enjoined members of the state assembly to work with the executive to make the plans in this budget document a reality and build a state that is just, prosperous, and inclusive.
