Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Communication and Social Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has called out veteran journalist Dele Momodu over an alleged unpaid ₦380,000 debt to a catering service from the 2022 presidential campaign.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Olayinka disclosed that he had personally cleared the outstanding balance on behalf of Momodu, who served as the Director of Strategic Communications for Atiku Abubakar’s campaign at the time.

“Good morning Ẹ̀gbọ́n @DeleMomodu,” Olayinka began in his post. “I wish to inform you that I have finally and completely settled the ₦380k small chops debt you owed Black Diamond Kitchen.”

He explained that the debt originated during a political event in 2022, where Black Diamond Kitchen provided refreshments and waiters but was never fully paid for their services.

“Remember that in 2022, during the presidential election campaign, you contracted Black Diamond Kitchen to supply small chops and provide other services worth ₦380,000,” he said.

According to Olayinka, the catering company confirmed that the food was delivered and served at the event.

“Black Diamond Kitchen supplied the small chops and provided waiters that served the food at the event, but you refused to pay,” he added.

Olayinka stated that he had paid the balance of ₦180,000 on Friday, “As promised, I paid the balance of ₦180k on Friday, July 25, 2025.”

He ended the post with a jab: “Egbon, you don’t need to thank me. Just ensure that you pay next time you order small chops, sir. E no good to dey chop food without paying, sir. Kẹ ni nice day.”
