Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has denied Ralph Nwosu’s claim that he was offered ministerial slots in exchange for political support.

Nwosu, a former ADC chairman, alleged he was promised positions in the ministries of Youths, Sports, and Labour.

Reacting to the allegation, Bwala dismissed it as a complete fabrication and challenged Nwosu to publicly name the officials who allegedly made the offer.

He emphasised that only the President has the constitutional authority to make ministerial appointments, not any government official regardless of their status.

In a post shared on his verified X handle on Wednesday, Bwala wrote: “From his words as reported, you know that he lied that senior government officials of the @officialABAT administration promised him three ministerial slots to not surrender his party to the coalition for a wild goose chase.”

He went on to clarify: “No government official(s), of whatever rank, in our government can promise or grant ministerial slots but Mr President.

“If a promise of ministerial slots would be made to Mr Nwosu, it would be made by the President and to him directly.”

Bwala further dared Nwosu to mention the names and positions of the officials involved, saying the same courage he used in making the accusation could have been used to reveal their identities.

Concluding on a scathing note, Bwala ridiculed the credibility of the claim, stating:
“They are painfully graduating to Association of Jesters or Association of Disorganised Characters.”
