Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Olujimi, has declared that the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, is not a threat to the second term of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Olujimi, an ex-Senate Minority Leader, who made the assertion on a Channels Television programme, Politics Today on Thursday, stated that Obi’s grammar and eloquence which played a major role in swaying his supporters and aided his impressive performance in the 2023 presidential election, would not work again in 2027.

Dismissing Obi’s chances of causing an upset in 2027, Olujimi said he does not have what it takes to mount any serious challenge to Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“The rhetoric of the last election will not work again, except Obi comes with another gimmick,” she said in response to a question on whether the former Anambra State governor can defeat the incumbent president.

“And you see, Tinubu is a politician, a man who knows the terrain well. This is the first time we are having a dyed-in-the-wool politician as president. He knows his onions; he knows all of us. He has been in the system for very long. It’s tough.

“This is a man who has worked with everyone, who has been useful to everyone, who has had opportunities to assist governments. Beating him? Uphill task,” she emphasized.
