The Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemates have suffered their first major setback, losing the season’s opening wager task.
The announcement was made by Big Brother during Friday’s wager presentation, leaving the housemates with reduced feeding supplies and fewer privileges for the week ahead.
The wager challenge required the housemates to recreate an unmasking show based on a ball theme, incorporating dramatic costumes and performances. Despite high expectations and an energetic display, their effort failed to impress.

Big Brother, also known as Biggie, delivered a stern critique after the presentation.
“Such an unremarkable performance.
“Housemates, your presentation lacks imagination and substance.
“Big Brother’s verdict will be as disappointing as your performance. You have lost your wager,” he declared.
Biggie also issued warnings over delays in response and continued microphone violations, pointing to a need for improved discipline in the house.
Before the task, the Head of House, Jason Jae, had been seen motivating fellow housemates, urging them to stay focused and bring energy to the performance. However, the overall delivery appeared disorganised and lacked clear direction.
Following the presentation, housemate Koyin attempted to address the group inside the arena, prompting Big Brother to request a self-evaluation. Responding on behalf of the housemates, Jason Jae and Rooboy admitted they had tried, but Biggie wasted no time in issuing his verdict.
Interestingly, housemate Thelma had predicted the outcome earlier during her diary session. In a light-hearted tone, she said she planned to prepare a hearty meal in anticipation of the group’s likely failure.
“The way these people are doing, they are not doing like people that will win their wager, so let me make Egusi soup and hot eba that we will eat before they go into the arena.
“So if they fail, they know that at least they had their last good food before failing,” she said.
With the loss of their first wager, housemates now face a tougher week ahead with fewer privileges and limited resources.
According to the show’s organisers, MultiChoice, the overall winner of this season will walk away with a grand prize worth ₦150 million, which includes cash and other rewards from sponsors.
