Nigerian music star, Alexander Adegbola Akande, popularly known as 9ice, has opened up about a terrifying spiritual ordeal that almost cost him his life.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Nancy Isime Show, posted on X on Sunday, the Gongo Aso singer revealed that he once vomited blood continuously for six months following a spiritual attack in 2010.
According to him, the situation had no medical explanation, and his healing only came after he was introduced to an Ifa priest.

When host Nancy Isime asked if he had experienced spiritual battles during his music career, 9ice replied:“Several times.”
She further asked: “What’s that one spiritual battle you went through that you thought you would not get out of?”
9ice responded: “When I was vomiting blood for about six months in my own house. I had to leave my house. It happened in 2009/2010. It wasn’t a medical condition.”
When asked how he now protects himself, the singer made a striking revelation about his spiritual path.
“I’m not a Christian or a Muslim, I’m a Babalawo. I’m an African. I’m a traditionalist. The first time I experienced Ifa was when I was vomiting blood. Someone referred me to Ifa. I just wished that I had known Ifa at the beginning. Fela used to go to Ogun and people were mocking him, but now, I understand.”
9ice went on to encourage Africans to reconnect with their traditional roots and spiritual beliefs, saying he now fully embraces Ifa and African spirituality.
