For di recent episode of The Nancy Isime Show, 9ice talk say devil dey control the whole music scene. E even carry mouth talk say no be small matter, spiritual forces dey run things for there o!
9ice no just dey talk story, him dey share him own experience too. According to am, if young artists wan enter this industry, dem gatz know wetin dem dey face. “Music generally, na devil dey control am. If you dey come here, you gatz understand di kind environment wey you dey enter,” he warn. (Na true be this, but who no like shine?)
Him dey refer to di devil as di “choirmaster,” and e no shy to add say na why musicians dey indulge for all these things wey no good, like smoking. “Na devil dey control music. Devil na di choirmaster. Na why we dey smoke and do all di things wey we dey do,” he talk as e dey eye di camera like say e dey give warning to dem wey dey start their music career.
Back in di days, 9ice experience some serious spiritual wahala. E talk say for around 2010, e dey vomit blood for six good months, and medical people no fit explain wetin dey happen. “I suffer am for my house. No be jokes,” e add. (We fit call am serious matter, abeg!)
No stop there, 9ice also show say him don turn away from Christian and Muslim beliefs, instead, him embrace di African traditional religion. “Me, I no be Christian. I no be Muslim. I be Babalawo. Him dey vex say he wish him don embrace Ifa earlier for him life. Him dey look up to Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti as inspiration. “When Fela dey talk, e dey go Ogun, and one dey wonder wetin he dey do. But now I sabi say e get reason,” 9ice chuk mouth.
As e dey gist, 9ice encourage young Africans to reconnect with their roots. E don dey tell dem to go back to their parents, ask dem about tradition, and fully embrace am with loyalty and sincerity. “This Black community, dis Black continent na for Black people.
