Actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has issued a reflective warning to those who regularly offer prayers on behalf of others without considering whether such intercession aligns with God’s will.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Njoku urged believers to exercise wisdom and discernment in their prayer life, cautioning that not all struggles are meant to be prayed away — and not every delay is from the devil.
She noted that in some cases, what people interpret as spiritual attacks or demonic interference may, in fact, be divine punishment or consequences of hidden sins.

“Be careful who you pray for,” Njoku wrote.
“Sometimes you’re trying to bless someone that God is trying to punish. You’re fasting, interceding, and nothing is shifting.
“Before you lose sleep, pause. There might be a reason heaven is silent.
“A hidden sin. A consequence. Something you don’t know and may never know.”
She stressed that while intercession is a noble act, it is important to recognise when a battle is not meant to be fought, warning that some issues are tied to God’s judgment rather than external forces.
“So be wise. Be discerning. Not every struggle is a battle you’re meant to fight. Not every delay is demonic. Sometimes, it’s divine judgment.”
Njoku concluded her message with a prayer and a strong caution: “My prayer today is that we don’t end up standing in the way of God’s justice. Because it’s a dangerous thing to be caught in divine crossfire. Especially over sins we know nothing about. Be wise. Be discerning. Be careful.”
